RBT BANK @ 50 in the service to the community

RBT Bank had just celebrated its golden years anniversary last March 10, 2016. A series of activities were set to commemorate the bank’s founding anniversary to boost its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

As it’s kick-off activity, employees of Main Office and Head Office rolled up their sleeves and brought their sacks as they clean up the shoreline of Talisayan Boulevard. Bottles, plastics and other waste materials were gathered and collected leaving the area clean. The said activity was headed by the Vice President himself, Mr. Cesar G. Magallanes. It was also actively participated by the Director, Mr. Emmanuel B. Liuson.

Next activity was the Tree Planting in coordination with the Talisayan Municipal Agrarian Officer who recommended the area. There were 200 mangrove seedlings planted at the coastal area at Tagbocboc, Talisayan, Misamis Oriental. The main objective of this project was to help the community, aside from the environmental protection, it will also add up to their source of income. Since it harbors shrimps and crabs which the fishermen can sell to earn money from these. Another activity was the TABO, it was a 2-day agro fair sponsored by RBT Bank. Farmers from the nearby barangays were invited to display and market their products and goods and promote the local products of Talisayan. There were vegetables, sweet potato, cassava, tomatoes, singkamas, buko and other pastries displayed and were sold.

After which was the feeding program at Barangay San Jose, Talisayan, Misamis Oriental. There were 100 selected kids invited for a Jolly Party, hosted by Jollibee Gingoog Branch Staff. Some of the kids was first time to met Jollibee. There were games and prizes given to the winners. It was so heartwarming to see the happiness and smile in every child who had really enjoyed the party.

Then on 12 March 2016, marks the highlight of RBT Bank 50th celebration. It was started with a Thanksgiving Prayer where employees of Main and Head Office gathered together to worship. The Preacher was Dir. Alonzo T. Chiong who focused his meditation on the Man of God who was instrumental in the development of the community through RBT Bank referring to Col. Alejandro Go Beltran, the Chairman Emeritus of this bank. Members of the Board of Directors were also present headed by the Chairman, Mr. Christopher C. The thanksgiving worship was assisted by our spiritual partners Pastor Demetrio “Jun” Tubat Jr, Minister of GCAF Talisayan and Pastor Arlene Pahayag, Minister of UCCP Talisayan. It was indeed a joyous celebration for at the closing part, the Chairman announced a good news that made everyone rejoiced to the fullest.

It was then followed by a dedication ceremony of the Casa Beltran, the ancestral house of the Beltran Family. It is one of the historic house in the town of Talisayan. It has some antique items displayed in different parts of the house and some bullet marks in the walls, for it was used as hide out of the Japanese Soldiers during World War II. There were also some creepy stories foretold about the house just to scare the children and for them not to wander in the night.

Motorcade then followed from Talisayan to Balingoan to Mandahilag at the boundary of Talisayan and Medina then back to Talisayan. In the afternoon was the 50th Stockholder’s Meeting held at Talisayan Gymnasium. On the following day, 13 March 2016 were the fitness activities.
